Sam Allardyce is taking a closer look at the giant defender as he desperately seeks a solution to their leaky back-line.
The Eagles have shipped eight goals in their last four Premier League games and Big Sam has invited Samba to train after the Conga international was released by Panathinaikos last week.

The Eagles are now set to offer the 32-year-old a short-term deal for an amazing Prem return.
Blackburn picked up Samba for around £500,000 in 2007 and he six seasons with the club, including two years playing under Allardyce.
He then departed for Anzhi Makhachkala as the Russian club shelled out mega wages on a recruitment drive which also saw them land Samuel Eto'o and Roberto Carlos.
He returned to England in 2012 for a brief ten-game stint as QPR splurged cash in a failed attempt to stay in the top flight.

He has struggled with injuries since a move to Greece and agreed to part company with Panathinaikos on Friday.
