Granit Xhaka‘s ninth red in three seasons means he will miss next four Arsenal games including crucial Premier League clash with Chelsea

The Switzerland midfielder has been red carded twice this season by the same referee; Jon Moss

GRANIT XHAKA will miss four crucial games for Arsenal following his hare-brained red card against Burnley on Sunday - his NINTH red in three seasons – including the derby with Chelsea.

The Gunners had a comfortable one-goal lead over the Emirates visitors through Shkrodan Mustafi’s finish on 59 minutes.

But the Switzerland international dropped his side in trouble just six minutes later when he launched himself into Steven Defour with a wild two-footed lunch.

Jon Moss spotted the needless challenge and – after conferring with his linesman – he sent off the midfielder for the second time this season.

Moss sent the £35million man off with 20 minutes left of the 3-2 Premier League win over Swansea in October and had no choice over making it a brace in north London.

With former club Borussia Monchengladback he picked up six, he collected one with his national side in a World Cup qualifier with Portugal in September and he now has two in his debut season for Arsenal.

Burnley then grabbed an equaliser to put a massive dent in Arsenal's Premier League title dream.

And manager Arsene Wenger was then sent off also and looked to shove the fourth official as he tried to guide the Frenchman away from the pitch.

But Arsenal got their chance to recover when Ben Mee tried to volley away an injury-time cross only for Laurent Koscielny to get his head to the ball and earn a penalty that Alexis Sanchez converted.
