Manchester United transfer news: Kasper Dolberg also wanted by Borussia Dortmund as race for Ajax ace heats up

Jose Mourinho desperate to bring prodigious striker to Old Trafford but faces intense battle with Thomas Tuchel

MANCHESTER UNITED face stiff competition from Borussia Dortmund in the race for Ajax prodigy Kasper Dolberg.

The 19-year-old striker has been a revelation this season after breaking into the starting XI in the Dutch capital.

Dolberg already has 11 goals to his name and recently picked up his first senior cap for Denmark.

Jose Mourinho is keen to bring talented youngsters to Old Trafford as he plans for the future and has already sent scouts to watch Dolberg on several occasions.

However, rivals Manchester City have already admitted they want to bring the attacker to England.

While there is strong interest from Chelsea as well as Italian duo Juventus and Napoli.

But the claims Manchester United’s biggest threat will come from German giants Borussia Dortmund.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has refused to rule out a move to Real Madrid, while Adrian Ramos is on the verge of completing a £9.5million move to the Chinese Super League.

When asked about signing a replacement, boss Thomas Tuchel said: “If the opportunity arises, then yes. If not, everything is good.”
