SunSport revealed that the England striker could have managed his incredible acrobatics because his fiancee has been teaching him yoga.

Billi Mucklow, who runs her own yoga therapy, has been encouraging her partner to take up the exercise after enduring a dismal spell on the sidelines with injury.

After returning from his latest setback, Carroll revealed the help of his wife inspired his goalscoring return.

He told : “It’s helped me a lot, especially when I’ve been injured.

“I’ve been doing a lot of work up here (Billi’s yoga studio), it’s been great.”

Carroll has been having regular classes at his fiancee’s yoga studio in Loughton which include ninety minute classes in a room heated to 40 degrees.
