MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly expected to sign Antoine Griezmann next summer after Atletico Madrid made Chelsea’s Diego Costa their top choice to replace him.
The Frenchman has long been linked with an Old Trafford switch after seeing compatriot Paul Pogba return to his old stomping ground for a world-record fee.
The pair get on famously when they link up for international duty and Griezmann has made no secret of his desire to link up with Pogba at club level.
United are continuing to pursue big-name stars after also bringing Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan to the Theatre of Dreams six months ago.
And the claims Jose Mourinho will splash out a stunning £100million on Griezmann at the end of the season in a bid to dramatically improve his attack.
Atletico appear to be resigned to losing their star player and will therefore look to re-sign Costa from Chelsea as his replacement.
The Spaniard is unsettled at Stamford Bridge after being offered £30m-a-year to play in China.
