Arsenal transfer news: Arsene Wenger eyeing move for AC Milan striker M’Baye Niang IF Alexis Sanchez leaves

ARSENE WENGER is lining up a move for AC Milan's rapid forward M'Baye Niang if Alexis Sanchez opts to leave Arsenal.

The Chilean star's future at the Emirates hangs in the balance having yet to agree a new contract with his current deal expiring in the summer of 2018.

According to , the Frenchman has been watching the 22-year-old closely with a view to making a serious offer in the summer.

Niang, who was formerly a trialist at Arsenal, has scored three times and assisted twice in 13 league starts this season but he was one of Milan's most consistent performers before being involved in a car accident in February last year.

The France youth international, who can play anywhere behind the striker or as the front-man, has also been attracting serious interest from West Ham.

Elsewhere Sanchez may have more than just his contract situation to worry about.

Arsenal's star man faces a potential jail sentence after admitting two counts of tax fraud during his time in Spain.

Sanchez confirmed in court that he cheated the Spanish taxman out of almost £900,000 whilst playing for Barcelona.
