Paul Pogba handball: Manchester United star slammed for shocking mistake that gifted Liverpool the lead at Old Trafford
Pogba's first half display for Manchester United was an absolute disaster
PAUL POGBA was blasted after by Manchester United fans after his ridiculous handball gave Liverpool the lead at Old Trafford.
Pogba certainly did not live up to his world record £89m transfer fee, the Frenchman failed to pick players up at set-plays and frequently gave the ball away.
The Sky Sports pundits were not impressed with Pogba but felt he should not have been left to challenge Dejan Lovren in the air.
Thierry Henry said: ''He got really lucky at the beginning, not lucky at the end and lucky afterwards. He doesn’t even know where Lovren is and I think he panics because he lost him twice before and he doesn’t know what’s happening, doesn’t know where the ball is.
''He jumps to see if he can maybe block something and unfortunately for him the ball hits his hand and it’s a clear penalty''.
Jamie Carragher on Pogba marking Lovren: ''Without a doubt, I think it’s got to be changed. It is difficult during the game, players worry if you do change and someone else scores, Jose Mourinho will say ‘well you should’ve been with him’.
''Jose Mourinho’s sitting or standing on the sideline, he won’t be able to see the detail we can see. I’m sure at half time it’ll have to be changed''.
Graeme Souness: ''If you know Lovren is Liverpool’s best header of the ball, you think ‘who’s Man U’s best header of the ball’ and surely you match that up.
''They look vulnerable after one corner and you think after two corners, make that switch and that penalty doesn’t happen''.
A slow start to his United career looked to have been well behind him with some impressive performances in recent weeks, but today the midfielder has been out of his depth.

Pogba even hauled Liverpool's Jordan Henderson down to the floor, showing he had really lost his head, if the player does return for the second half it will be an extreme test of his character.
