PARIS SAINT GERMAIN could make a surprise move for Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke, if they fail to sign Chelsea's Michy Batshuayi.
The French outfits priority is Batshuayi, but according to reports in France, the Palace striker is a viable alternative for the Ligue 1 champions if they don't make any progress with the former Marseille hitman.
Eagles boss Sam Allardyce is adamant the former Liverpool striker is part of his plans and has a "major part" to play in the club's fight for Premier League survival.
Palace could have a real fight on their hands if moneybags PSG come calling, even if the deal was on a short term basis for Benteke who moved to Selhurst Park in the summer from Liverpool in August.
Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte still feels Batshuayi has a long term future at Stamford Bridge, however his stance has not stopped clubs fighting it out for him for the second half of the season.
London Evening Standard have reported the French giants director of football Patrick Kluivert has already made contact with the Premier League leaders about a potential deal this month.
SunSport revealed this month the striker would not be going to Swansea as a makeweight in any deal to bring Spanish striker Fernando Llorente to Stamford Bridge.
The 23-year-old striker came on as a late second half sub in the Blues win at Leicester City on Saturday.
Batshuayi has endured a nightmare start to his Chelsea career and has not started a single league game since his £33million move from Marseille last summer.
The French champions under new boss Unai Emery are looking add another striker as back up to first choice Edinson Cavani.
Emery is a fan of the former Marseille hitman and tried to bag him while in charge at Sevilla.
The Belgian international's availability to play in the Champions League will be a major plus for the French who face Barcelona in the last 16 next month.
