CHELSEA were forced to fork out a staggering £8million to give Jose Mourinho the boot, it has been sensationally revealed.
The Blues endured one of the worst starts to a Premier League season in their recent history, ultimately costing the Special One his job.
However, Roman Abramovich and Co had to part with £8m in order to replace Mourinho in December 2015, midway through his third season at the club.

The Portuguese chief had just months earlier led the club to a spectacular Premier League title - earning himself a bumper pay-day when signing a four-year contract in August.
Therefore, terminating the deal three-and-a-half years early ultimately cost the Blues hugely.
It has also been revealed that Chelsea had to pay a whopping £67m to terminate their affiliation with sportswear giants adidas in the same season.
However, the move would appear to be a shrewd one, as they went on to sign a mega-money £900m deal with rivals Nike.
The news comes as Chelsea published their annual accounts, with the figures set to shock supporters.
Not only did they have to pay an incredible amount to get rid of Mourinho - now manager of Manchester United - in 2015, but they did so in his first stint also.
Back in 2007, the Blues claimed they were coerced into shelling out £23.1m to axe both the Special One and Avram Grant after their stints at Stamford Bridge came to an end.
It's fair to say Chelsea won't mind parting with the cash too much if the move bears fruit.
At the time of Mourinho's sacking, the Blues were sitting 16th in the Premier League, losing nine of their first 16 games.
Since then, Chelsea have first steadied the ship under Guus Hiddink and then got the crowd roaring again in west London as they have flown to the top of the league under Antonio Conte in 2016-17, including going on a phenomenal 13-game winning streak at the end of 2016.
