THOMAS MULLER admits he is unhappy at Bayern Munich - in a major boost to Manchester United.
The Red Devils are long-term admirers of the 83-cap Germany forward.
And Muller has conceded that he is far from satisfied with the way things are going for him in Bavaria.
Muller, 27, has struggled for game time under Carlo Ancelotti and has netted just ONCE in the Bundesliga this season.
His latest blow came before German football paused for its winter break, with Muller left on the bench for Bayern's top-of-the-table clash with RB Leipzig.
The two sides went into the game level on points, with Bayern moving three clear with a 3-0 win.
Wingers Arjen Robben and Douglas Costa flanked hit-man Robert Lewandowski is Anclotti's preferred 4-3-3 formation.
And when an attacker was summoned from the bench, it was Franck Ribery who got the nod ahead of Muller.
With Portuguese starlet Renato Sanches also vying for a spot in the forward line, Muller has completed 90 minutes just five times since October across all competitions.
He said: "The last game against Leipzig was not optimal for me personally, since I did not play.
"There was more space than in the games before. It was a game I could have enjoyed.
"Of course, I’m not sitting there with a grin on the bench."
Muller's ropy run of form stretches back to the summer when he flopped with Germany at Euro 2016.
He was one of the favourites for the Golden Boot and expected to be one of the stars of the tournament.
But he failed to score a single goal and missed from the spot in a quarter-final penalty shoot-out win over Italy, before Antoine Griezmann's double for hosts France knocked Die Mannschaft out in the semis.
