Premier League champ Ranieri, 65, scooped the top gong after being voted ahead of Portugal’s Euro 2016-winning manager Fernando Santos and Real Madrid’s Zinedine Zidane.
The world’s managers, team captains and media — along with fans — were involved in the voting.
England skipper Wayne Rooney went for Ranieri first, with Wales chief Chris Coleman next.
Intriguingly, the Manchester United ace had Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp as the third boss on his list.
For the players, Rooney went for Ronaldo, Luis Suarez and Jamie Vardy.
Real’s Cristiano Ronaldo bagged the top player award with NONE of the Barcelona stars who featured in the World 11 turning up for the glitzy event in Zurich last night.
The former United ace, 31, spoke about himself a lot while rarely mentioning his heroic team-mates.
He said: “I tell you 2016 was magnificent — the best year of my career.
“I had a lot of doubts but the trophies speak for themselves. I achieved the best I could.”
