JOSE MOURINHO will not use cash from the sales of Morgan Schneiderlin and Memphis Depay to fund new signings this month.
So that means there will be no emotional return to Manchester United for Patrice Evra.
And Jose Fonte — who has handed in a transfer request at Southampton — is not on the agenda.
The United chief is hoping Luke Shaw will show him he is worth a long-term place in his squad between now and May.
Everton and West Brom will be told Schneiderlin, 27, will cost £24million and United also want a permanent sale for Memphis, 22, which has priced Nice out.
Their president Jean Pierre Rivere said: “We looked at him but it’s a situation which is complicated and out of our financial reach.”
Meanwhile, Wayne Rooney could be in the squad for tomorrow’s FA Cup tie against Reading if he comes through a full session today following a thigh strain.
