Leicester winger is named Africa’s best player while Arsenal star Alex Iwobi won the young player award

Leicester forward Riyad Mahrez has won the Confederation of African Football's player of the year award.

The 25-year-old Algerian, who inspired Leicester to the Premier League title, is already the PFA Player of the Year and BBC African Footballer of the Year - and now adds a third gong.

25-year-old Mahrez scored 17 Premier League goals as Leicester claimed a shock title under Claudio Ranieri, with his exploits in the team earning him the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award in April.
