Manchester United transfer news: Patrice Evra desperate to leave Juventus and rejoin Red Devils after being frozen out in Italy
Former United left-back has reportedly told friends he would jump at chance to link up with Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford
PATRICE EVRA is reportedly desperate to rejoin Manchester United this month.
The Juventus left-back is struggling for games in Italy due to the form of Alex Sandro.
And former Red Devil Evra has apparently pinned his hopes on an Old Trafford return before hanging up his boots for good, despite strong interest from West Ham.
The Frenchman became a fan favourite during an eight-and-a-half year spell with United, winning five Premier League titles, three League Cups and one Champions League in the process.
Evra was shipped off to Italy by Louis van Gaal in 2014 following the arrival of Luke Shaw from Southampton.
But the veteran defender has defied his age with some superb performances, helping Juve win two Serie A titles and two Coppa Italias.
However, it appears Evra’s time in Turin is up after making just five league appearances this season.
And after being tipped for a return to the north-west by former teammate Rio Ferdinand, claims he has told friends he would jump at the chance to play for United one last time.
Shaw has struggled for fitness under Jose Mourinho, who has also used Matteo Darmian, Marcos Rojo and Daley Blind at left-back, and Evra could be just the man to solidify the position on a short-term basis.
