Orlando City honour 49 people slain in gay-friendly nightclub horror with rainbow seating section at new stadium

ORLANDO CITY have paid a touching tribute to each of the 49 victims who lost their lives in a nightclub shooting last year by unveiling a section of rainbow seating.
The MLS franchise unveiled 49 coloured seats to remember the dead who were tragically shot at Pulse - a gay-friendly nightclub.
The permanent seats are placed in section 12 of the new stadium to remember the date, June 12, when a lone gunman entered the establishment and opened fire.

On each seat is the hashtag Orlando United which represents its mission to be an "inclusive, diverse and welcoming community."
The side are set to play their first match at the new Orlando City Stadium against New York City on March 5, the opening weekend of the 2017 MLS season.

Phil Rawlins, club founder and life-president of the club said: "We are here to commemorate and unveil the 49 rainbow-coloured seats that will sit permanently in section 12 of our new stadium as a constant reminder of the senseless acts of June 12.
"These are regular season ticket holder seats. We put them in section 12 because obviously we felt that was pertinent.
"It was June 12th last year when the tragedy happened. They are right down by the benches and will certainly be seen by everyone in stadium."
