Tottenham and Manchester United have 100 per cent record over Christmas period whilst Arsenal suffer festive flop

Gunners slip out of Premier League's top four following busy festive period after title-rivals all have success

TOTTENHAM and Manchester United both begin the New Year full of life whilst Arsenal slip behind the title-chasing pack in the Premier League.

The Gunners will be left scratching their heads after heading into the busy festive period in third place - but after flopping over Christmas - Spurs have swapped places with their arch rivals from fifth.

The form of Arsene Wenger's side showed they slipped behind the likes of Manchester United, Spurs, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City during the hectic schedule.

They managed to equal the same number of points (seven) after four games as Everton, who are currently in seventh place.

Spurs and United top the table after maintaining a 100 per cent winning record, picking up 12 points, whilst Liverpool were the only other side to remain unbeaten - with three victories and one draw.

Whilst Chelsea and Man City equally won on three occasions but both suffered defeats against Tottenham and Liverpool respectively.

But whilst the Christmas period turned out to be encouraging for some sides - others did not have such a merry time.

With Watford, Hull City and Watford all picking up just one point after losing three of their four encounters.
