Jermain Defoe: West Ham set for second transfer bid for Sunderland striker as they also line up Moussa Dembele
London club are keen to get their former striker back to turn their season around
WEST HAM are set to make a second move for Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe.
Slaven Bilic has already tabled a £5million-plus offer and he is preparing to up that to around £7m.
The Black Cats are reluctant to sell 11-goal Defoe but the Hammers believe the 34-year-old wants a return to the club he left in 2004.
Hammers boss Bilic is also chasing £20m-rated Celtic striker Moussa Dembele, 20, and is willing to make a £10m swoop for Burnley’s Andre Gray, 25.
Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers values the 20-year-old Dembele at £20million.
Current Sunderland boss David Moyes is not going to just allow his main man to leave the club easily as they are also in a dog fight to stay up.

Moyes even said the 34 year old is ‘priceless’ so its going to take some serious negotiation to prise the striker away from the Stadium of Light.
Moyes added: ”I don’t think there’s any transfer fee because we know that Jermain’s goals are so priceless to us.I wouldn’t even think about where we’d be without him. His stats for 2016 show he’s been brilliant.”
”I’m not saying we’re getting the best out of him because he’s had a great career and he’s scored a lot of goals, but nobody can turn around and say they can see a demise in him. You can only see someone who will keep going.”
