HARRY KANE and Dele Alli both struck twice as Tottenham thumped Watford to move up into the top four in the Premier League.
England striker Kane set Spurs on the path to an easy win as he twice got on the end of Kieran Trippier passes to beat exposed Hornets keeper Heurelho Gomes.

Alli then got in on the act when he put Spurs three-up before halt-time when he seized on poor defending from former Tottenham centre-back Younes Kaboul.
Alli then added a fourth in the second half as Mauricio Pochettino's men climbed above Manchester City in the table despite Kaboul scrambling a late consolation goal for Watford.

- Kieran Trippier is a player who could be in demand in the transfer window but Spurs should do everything to keep him after he created the first two goals for Harry Kane.

- Mauricio Pochettino's side have also become the meanest defence in the top flight, conceding just 33 goals throughout last year in the league - four fewer than Chelsea and Arsenal.
- Harry Kane's first half double has set him on course for another good year in the goalscoring charts - only Sergio Aguero's 27 strikes was better than the 22 Kane mustered in 2016.
- Watford defender Younes Kaboul enjoyed two spells at Spurs earlier in his career, and he obviously thought he was still playing for them as he fed Dele Alli to make it 3-0 before the break.
- Once Alli had scored his second to make it four for Spurs, Pochettino was able to rest the midfielder and Kane with Wednesday's clash with Chelsea in mind.
- Half the Watford fans were well on the way home before Kaboul salvaged some pride for the Hornets with the injury time consolation.
- Watford mascot Harry the Hornet was less visible as his team collapsed after grabbing the headlines for his dive-storm bust-up with Wilfired Zaha on Boxing Day
