Barcelona transfer news: Neymar wants Flamengo move when he leaves Nou Camp in order to play at the Maracana
Brazilian ace keen to pull on the jersey of most popular club in his homeland despite playing for fierce rivals Santos
BARCELONA star Neymar admits he’d love to return to Brazil and play for Flamengo one day.
The Brazilian ace would surely be welcomed by any team on the planet and recently ended speculation linking him to Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain by signing a new contract earlier this season.
However, Neymar risks upsetting old club Santos by admitting he’s keen to pull on the jersey of rivals Flamengo once he leaves the Nou Camp, with the Rio club the most popular in his country.
Neymar, speaking after the Game of the Stars charity match honouring tragic side Chapecoense, revealed: “If I could I would like to play for Flamengo, it would be a great honour for me to play at the Maracana.
“I would be playing there all day. It’s a club I want to play for.”
Also keen to join Neymar – and follow in the footsteps of the legendary Zico – at Flamengo is Barcelona teammate Rafinha, who added: “God willing, one day, I will play for Flamengo.”
But for the meantime, the duo are set to remain for a good while longer in Spain as Luis Enrique prepares to strengthen his squad again.
Barcelona are reportedly set to go head-to-head with Manchester City for Borussia Dortmund’s Julian Weigl next summer.
While SunSport has exclusively been told by Catalan icon Ronaldinho that his former side are ready to launch a huge bid for Liverpool’s Coutinho.
