Manchester United transfer news: Anthony Martial not joining Sevilla as Jose Mourinho blocks Spanish side’s loan move
Red Devils have no intention of letting sidelined striker leave in January even though he's struggling to make impact
MANCHESTER UNITED have no intention of allowing Anthony Martial to join Sevilla on loan, according to reports.
The surprise Spanish title hopefuls are allegedly looking to sign Martial on loan next month, with director of football Monchi already making contact with the striker’s agent.
Martial has struggled to make an impact under Jose Mourinho this season and has scored just one Premier League goal.
But Sevilla could rescue the 21-year-old from his Old Trafford nightmare in January as they bid to win their first title since 1946.
However, the claims Mourinho will reject Jorge Sampaoli’s offer as he has no intention of letting Martial leave.
United are also competing for the Europa League and Mourinho wants options in attack.
Marcus Rashford has been mainly used as a wide-man this season, with Wayne Rooney often deployed in central midfield or as a No.10.
And Mourinho is hopeful that Martial will knuckle down in a bid to turn his flailing season around, with France boss Didier Deschamps also issuing the same warning.
West Ham have been linked with Martial too but will be forced to look elsewhere after also missing out on Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi.
