Chelsea transfer news: Radja Nainggolan wanted by Antonio Conte in January as Blues boss plans second assault

Premier League leaders missed out on Belgian midfielder last summer but are set to return with new bid next month

CHELSEA have renewed their interest in Radja Nainggolan, according to reports.

The Times newspaper claims Antonio Conte will go back in for the Roma midfielder next month after missing out on him over the summer.

Chelsea are keen to land a new central midfielder in January after selling Oscar to Shanghai SIGP for £60million.

The Blues tried to sign Nainggolan when Conte took charge at Stamford Bridge after Euro 2016.

But the Belgium international opted to stay at Roma in order to challenge for the Serie A title.

However, Chelsea are said to be confident they can tempt Nainggolan to England after notching up an incredible 12 consecutive wins.

There is also interest in Sevilla ace Steven N’Zonzi, with the Frenchman keen on a Premier League return.

Manchester City are also said to be keen, but both sides have been told they must meet his £25.5million release clause.

Roma are certain to demand a similar price if Chelsea come knocking for Nainggolan, and it could be that the Blues opt for the more reasonable option in the new age of FFP.
