Martial, 21 has not been first choice this season under new United boss Jose Mourinho and has netted just once in 10 Premier League appearances.

And the France international – who moved to Old Trafford in a deal worth up to £57.6million last year – even saw his number 9 shirt stolen by summer arrival Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

United will not consider selling Martial but Mourinho could be willing to let the frontman leave until the end of the season to get minutes elsewhere.

He would be first-choice at Sevilla and would be eligible for their Champions League second round tie with Leicester, having only played in the Europa League with United.

The Spaniards would be able to afford his £65k-a-week wages.

Sevilla are currently third in La Liga, three points behind leaders Real Madrid.
