Cristiano Ronaldo: Real Madrid star sends message to children of Syria urging them to never give up hope
Ronaldo is an ambassador for Save The Children and cares very deeply about the horrific events occurring in war-torn country
CRISTIANO RONALDO has taken time out of his busy schedule to send a message of support to the children of Syria.
The Middle Eastern country has been devastated by war and the besieged city of Aleppo has been hit particularly hard.
There seems to be no end in sight as world leaders bicker over how to handle the situation.
But Real Madrid superstar Ronaldo has urged all youngsters in the country to always keep believing and never give up hope.
Taking to Instagram, Ronaldo said: “This is for the children of Syria.
“We know that you have been suffering a lot. I’m a very famous player but you are the true heroes.
“Don’t lose your hope. The world is with you. We care about you. I am with you.”
The 2016 Ballon d’Or winner’s words were greatly appreciated by a number of people online, with Save the Children’s Nick Finney saying: “Cristiano Ronaldo’s generous donation will help us to support children from Aleppo and across Syria, who have suffered things children should never have to live through.
“We are tremendously grateful for his life-changing support. Ronaldo is not only one of the world’s most iconic sports figures, but he also has become a beacon of hope for millions of boys and girls worldwide – and hope is something that Syria’s children need now more than ever.”
