Chelsea transfer news: PSV confirm they hope to sign Blues’ forgotten man Marco van Ginkel

Midfielder has failed to make an appearance under Antonio Conte this season

CHELSEA’S forgotten midfielder Marco van Ginkel is a January target for PSV.

The 24-year-old has failed to make an appearance under Antonio Conte side this season and has had to settle with playing for the under-23 side.

But the Dutch giants are ready to offer the 24-year-old an escape route, either on a loan deal or permanently.

Van Ginkel spent half of last season on loan at PSV where he scored eight goals in 13 appearances and the club’s sporting director, Marcel Brands, has confirmed they will make a January swoop.

He told Dutch broadcaster Omroep Brabant: “We need to check with Chelsea.

“Of course he’s on our list, but we must also see if there is a spot for him at this time in our team.

“That question will be answered by our technical staff. We need to look even if he is feasible.

“We have not enquired with Chelsea yet.”

Chelsea signed the promising talent in the summer of 2013 but has failed to make any impact at Stamford Bridge.

He spent the first half of last season on loan at Stoke but had his move terminated following just eight league starts.
