STEVE HOLLAND will leave his Chelsea post to become Gareth Southgate's England No 2.
The former Crewe Alexandra manager had been doing both on a job-share basis since September, but will leave his Chelsea role for good at the end of the season.
The 46-year-old was named Southgate's assistant when he became caretaker manager on September 27 following Sam Allardyce's sudden sacking.
Holland had been with with Southgate and the Under-21s for the entirety of his reign from 2013 onwards.
He first joined Chelsea in August 2009 as reserve team manager.
After an impressive two years in charge - which included Chelsea's first Premier Reserve League title since 1994 in 2011 - Andre Villas-Boas promoted Holland to the first-team.
He has been assistant manager since, working under Villas-Boas, Roberto Di Matteo, Rafael Benitez, Jose Mourinho, Guus Hiddink and this season under Antonio Conte.
