Mino Raiola: Romelu Lukaku’s new Everton contract is 99 per cent done and just needs to be signed

ROMELU LUKAKU'S new Everton contract is "99.9 per cent" done - according to the player's agent Mino Raiola.

Lukaku is set to seal a six-figure weekly contract with the Toffees, making him their highest-paid star, but super-agent Raiola did not rule out a move away from Goodison eventually.

Raiola said of the talks: "They are good, talking to the club in a good spirit, so we're very hopeful, there's no problems on the way that I foresee for now.

"I never talk about money or numbers, etc and a contract is not only made of numbers. Obviously the numbers are important but I don't see any problems. We agree, it's a question of putting the details on paper.

"I've said it's not only about money, it's a combination of a contract. With Everton we have 99.9 per cent reached terms."

Lukaku netted 28 times for club and country last term and Raiola admitted that the 23-year-old wants to play for one of the world's top clubs at some point in his career.

Raiola told : "If Romelu is strong enough to move on in the next couple of years we will talk to Everton about it. Everton is going through a transition from a club that was going to the Europa League, it's now more ambitious.

"We can see them going to the Champions League and even winning the Premier League at one point. It's an interesting club in England.

"I think that in football you've got to not look too far in front, take it one transfer window at a time.

"For now we agree terms and in the summer we'll see what happens and how the situation is.

"If it's in the interests of both parties to move on, we'll talk to the club. But at this point we only have one objective, that's to perform as well possible."
