Jamie Vardy loses red card appeal and faces three games out for Leicester City over red card at Stoke
Foxes hitman was dismissed for a lunge in the first half of the 2-2 draw this weekend - but appeal has been unsuccessful
JAMIE VARDY will serve a three-match ban after the FA rejected his appeal to have the red card he received against Stoke overturned.
The Leicester striker, 29, had hoped to have the card he received for a lunge on Mame Diouf rescinded - but will instead miss the games against Everton, West Ham and Middlesbrough.
Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri and his players were furious with ref Craig Pawson and tried to confront the officials as they walked towards the dressing room at half time.

They felt that the England striker had been knocked off balance before the tackle and there was no serious intent.
Earlier, Leicester released a statement explaining the reasons why they were appealing the decision.
It read: “Jamie was shown a straight red card by referee Craig Pawson in the 28th minute of Saturday's 2-2 draw for a challenge that was deemed to have constituted serious foul play.
“The club has subsequently made its case for an instance of wrongful dismissal and expects to hear the outcome of the appeal in the coming days.”
Vardy's wife Rebekah immediately took to Twitter to slam the decision.
Ranieri said after the game: "He wants to challenge and get the ball, not make a foul. He touched the ball. Maybe it was yellow."
