Saido Berahino transfer: West Brom could lose out on £8m if striker chooses to go abroad to Roma, Inter Milan or Nice
Baggies would receive around £8m compensation if striker joins an English club, but a move abroad would see them get just £300k
SAIDO BERAHINO is on the verge of moving abroad — which could cost West Brom up to £8million.
The Baggies’ England Under-21 bad-boy striker will speak to European clubs — including Italian giants Roma — in January.
Serie A rivals Inter Milan have also registered their interest, while French club Nice — who salvaged ex-Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli’s career — are also prepared to offer him a deal.
Berahino, 23, can start talking to other clubs in January as his West Brom contract expires in the summer.
He can sign a pre-contract with a foreign club next month.

West Brom would be entitled to around £8m in compensation if he moved to another English club as he is a product of The Hawthorns Academy.
But foreign clubs would only have to cough up £300,000 compensation as rules are different on players moving abroad.
Danny Ings’ move from Burnley to Liverpool went to a tribunal and showed top young players moving without a contract can cost £8m.
Berahino has not played since September and only recently returned to the club after working on his fitness in France.
West Brom rejected a reported £18m offer from Spurs on transfer deadline day in September 2015.
Baggies boss Tony Pulis (right) could try to tie him down to a fresh contract to avoid losing cash if he leaves the club, but he seems certain to move on.
The striker, who was called up to the full England squad during Roy Hodgson’s reign, will at least open talks with clubs before making his next move.
