If he finalises his January transfer, it will propel Oscar to becoming the third highest paid player in the world behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Ezequiel Lavezzi.

Portuguese star Ronaldo bagged himself a pay rise at the Bernabeu and wages of £440k a week whilst Argentine Lavezzi pulls in a eye-watering weekly sum of £493,000.

Barcelona’s maestro Lionel Messi pockets a cool £270k every week.

The Brazilian is currently earning £90,000-a-week at Chelsea and the huge increase in his pay packet would explain his willingness to play in the Chinese Super League.

He will also become Chelsea’s most expensive player in history, topping David Luiz’s £50m transfer to PSG in 2014.

Carlos Tevez could be the next big name to play in China

The move would represent the second big piece of business Chelsea have done with a Chinese club in a year.

In January last season, Ramires made a surprise £20m move to Jiangsu Suning, where he was joined by Atletico Madrid striker Jackson Martinez and former Liverpool target Alex Teixeira.

And he could be joined by former Premier League rival Carlos Tevez who is set to earn £31.5m-a-year if he completes his move to Shanghai Shenua.
