Club America vs Real Madrid team news: Cristiano Ronaldo to play but Gareth Bale and Sergio Ramos out of Club World Cup clash
Superstar set to return after latest Ballon d'Or triumph but Ramos is not fit and Bale is still nursing long-term injury
CRISTIANO RONALDO is ready to lead Real Madrid’s Club World Cup charge against Club America tomorrow.
The Ballon d’Or 2016 winner was left watching from the stands at the weekend as his side maintained their unbeaten La Liga run with a tense 3-2 win over Espanyol.
But Ronaldo will return to the starting XI as Real attempt to win another major trophy and is likely to captain the side in the absence of Sergio Ramos.
The defender has travelled to Japan but took a knock in the last game and will be rested as a precaution.
Gareth Bale continues to miss out with his long-term injury while Fabio Coentrao is also sidelined.
But Zinedine Zidane has no other concerns among his star-studded squad and insists he will put out his strongest line-up possible.
The Frenchman revealed: “Tomorrow Ramos will not play. It is not a serious problem but he felt something after the journey, and like always we will take no risks but otherwise we are all ready to play.
“Cristiano too. We have many options, but I will put out the best team possible. The rest we will see from Thursday, if we are in the final.”
