Chelsea transfer news: Diego Laxalt could replace Oscar as agent reveals Antonio Conte keen on signing Genoa’s attacking midfielder

Brazilian playmaker heading to China in huge £60million deal and Chelsea could look to Uruguayan midfielder to fill breach

CHELSEA are tracking Genoa star Diego Laxalt and could be ready to move for him next month.

That’s according to his agent Vincenzo D’Ippolito, who claims that Antonio Conte is a big fan of the versatile attacking midfielder and looks set to pounce.

The 23-year-old joined Inter Milan from boyhood club Defensor Sporting before enjoying loan spells at Bologna, Empoli and Genoa.

Laxalt joined the latter on a permanent deal last summer and his recent performances are believed to be attracting interest from a number of top European clubs.

One of those is Chelsea, and agent D’Ippolito admits he’d love to take Laxalt to London for a link-up with former Juventus boss Conte.

He told : “Chelsea? It is one of the clubs [interested] because Conte saw him in Italy, he knows his qualities and he would like to take him to England.”
