The deal has not been rubber stamped but Villas-Boas is confident that the Samba star will complete a deal to the mega-rich Chinese club during the January transfer window.

, the offer matches Chelsea's asking price and therefore the 25-year-old will be allowed to speak to the Chinese club over a potential move.

The highest fee Chelsea have received for a player is £50m when David Luiz joined Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2014.

Oscar could also have his wages doubled if he signs on the dotted line at Shanghai SIPG.

And he has international compatriots in Hulk and Elkeson to help him settle if he does decide to move.

He could be the second Chelsea player to move to China following the £20m sale of Ramires last January.

Villas-Boas has always been a huge admirer of Oscar and attempted to sign him whilst he was manager of Tottenham.

The cash should help bankroll more spending by new Chelsea boss Conte who has been linked with a move for defender Leonardo Bonucci at his former club Juventus during next month's transfer window.

But it is more likely Chelsea will keep the money up their sleeves to finance spending next summer when a defender will be on their shopping list.
