Sign of a move?

Liverpool target Aaron Cresswell seen touching the Anfield sign as West Ham played Reds on Sunday

The Reds are eyeing a new full back after Jurgen Klopp has opted to play James Milner in that role

AARON CRESSWELL has shown his love for Liverpool after touching the famous Anfield sign ahead West Ham's Premier League clash.

Jurgen Klopp is reportedly keen on signing the left back after missing out on his signature last summer.

It's no surprise to hear the Reds are pursuing the 26-year-old after choosing to play James Milner in defence ahead of Alberto Moreno, whose natural position is at left back.

Cresswell touched the sign ahead of the Hammers' 2-2 draw against the Reds - which saw both keepers Darren Randolph and Loris Karius both make mistakes.

The Englishman was rejected by Liverpool as a teenager but despite this set back early on in his career he remains a huge fan of the club.

Back in November Cresswell explained he struggled to cope with Liverpool's decision when he was turned away as a youngster.

He said: "My dad told me and I couldn’t get my head around it at first.

"They pull the parents to one side and tell them: 'It’s not to be, but it’s not the end.' I was devastated. As a kid, you are in a bubble of playing for Liverpool.

"It was all I had done for two years and I had enjoyed it so much. It was about playing for the club I supported.

"My dad said: 'It is not the end of the world. Go back with your mates. Just play with a smile on your face and enjoy it.' That’s what I did. I went back with the lads."

Cresswell ended up starting his career at Tranmere in 2008 and stayed there for three years before joining Ipswich in the Championship.

Then at the age of 24 he sealed a move to West Ham on a five-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

Since joining the Hammers he has made 97 appearances for the club, scoring four goals and has also made one cap for England.

So far this season West Ham have struggled under Slaven Bilic at the London Stadium as they are one point ahead of the play-off places with just three wins.

Which is the same number of victories as Sunderland, Hull, Swansea and Middlesbrough - who have all been tipped to face the drop.
