ARSENAL chiefs have still not started contract negotiations with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
It was claimed last week by Gunners boss Arsene Wenger that talks had begun with the player’s representatives.
Yet, according to the , NO approach has been made.
And the Frenchman’s comments came a huge surprise to the midfielder and his agent.
The 23-year-old has just 18 months left on his deal at the Emirates.
Oxlade-Chamberlain is growing increasingly frustrated with the amount of playing time at Arsenal.
He has completed 90 minutes just once this season, despite bagging six goals and providing six assists.
Only Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott have notched more than the England international.
Arsenal legend and Match of the Day pundit Ian Wright highlighted the Ox’s situation at the weekend and said the midfielder is annoyed at constantly being subbed off.
It happened again on Saturday, Wenger replacing the star with 20 minutes to go during the 3-1 victory over Stoke City.
