Meanwhile, there was some coupon busting going on at Ingolstadt.
Leipzig, who have scored in every game this season, and were previously undefeated, were shocked by a team second-bottom of the Bundesliga.
Roger de Oliveira Bernardo scored the only goal of the game to seal a magnificent win for the strugglers.
That meant Bayern go back to the top of the league courtesy of a 25 to 17 goal difference, with the two teams tied on 33 points.
Bayern's result was less complicated. They proved far too strong for their struggling opponents.
Robben opened the scoring on 18 minutes when he connected with a Philipp Lahm corner.
Lewandowski netted on 22 minutes to make it 2-0, and at half-time the game was far from over.
But that changed in the second period.
Lewandowski bagged his second on 58 minutes, and then 15 minutes from time Muller got the goal his inventive play deserved with a cool finish.
