ZLAT DOPE CLAIM

Zlatan Ibrahimovic to sue Swedish doctor who accused Manchester United striker of DOPING while he was at Juventus

Swedish striker put on 10kg of muscle during his time at Juventus which doctor allegedly claimed would be 'impossible'

ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC is suing a Swedish doctor who claims he doped in order to bulk up whilst playing for Juventus.

The Manchester United striker, 34, apparently put on 10kg of muscle during his time in Turin - which former Sweden athletics team doctor Ulf Karlsson claimed was 'impossible' without the aid of other substances.

Ibra has been outraged by the claims and is suing the doctor for defamation, with the court date set for December 19.

Swedish news agency ran the quotes earlier this year in which Karlsson gave his reasoning behind the allegations.

The doctor claimed in April: "Zlatan put on 10 kilos in six months during his time at Juventus. I think he was doping, that’s how it seems to me. I am convinced of it.

"He put on 10 kilos of muscle in six months. It’s impossible to do that in such a short space of time."

According to Swedish paper Expressen, Karlsson has already denied that he said Zlatan definitely did dope - and has apologised to the star.

Zlatan is a national hero in Sweden, possibly their most famous sportsman in the countries history, so the allegations have been a bombshell to football fans.

Ibrahimovic joined Juventus in 2004 from Ajax, after the gangly forward had netted 35 goals in 74 games for the Dutch side.

During his two seasons in Turin he was just as prolific and earnt a move to Inter Milan in 2006.
