Colombia plane crash: Chapecoense will officially be crowned Copa Sudamericana champions following tragic incident

CHAPECOENSE will be crowned Copa Sudamericana champions, according to CONMEBOL president Ivan Tozzo.
The Brazilian side lost 19 of its stars in the tragic Colombia plane crash on Tuesday - where 71 people heartbreakingly lost their lives.
The team - dubbed the 'Brazilian Leicester' due to their famous, unexpected cup run - were due to take on Atletico Nacional in the two-legged final in their bid to complete their fairy-tale journey.

However, following the incident on Tuesday, the Colombian champions urged South American football governing body CONMEBOL to award the crown to Chapecoense as a mark of respect.
It would now appear their wish has been granted as interim president Tozzo has said the trophy will be going to the tragic Brazilian outfit.
He said: "CONMEBOL have testified that they will crown Chapecoense as champions of the Copa Sudamericana.
"We are receiving support from all federations. The CBF, CONMEBOL, Fifa, and especially the people of Chapeco.
"Right now we are beginning to rebuild the team. People want football, people love football in Chapeco.

"Therefore, we must continue this. Let's talk and do well, let the dust settle and rebuild the team for next year."
The world of football has been in mourning all week, with clubs across the globe holding tributes of the own, including moments of silence, t-shirts and celebrations.
A host of world-famous landmarks have also lit up green for a period out of respect, including Wembley.
Former world superstars Ronaldinho and Juan Roman Riquelme have offered their services to the grieving Brazilian team to help them get back on their feet.
Meanwhile Brazilian clubs have promised to pull together to offer players on loan for free to rebuild the squad, while also hoping to make them exempt from relegation for the next three years.
On Saturday, thousands of people filled Chapecoense's tiny stadium to say their goodbyes to the fallen stars, who arrived at the clubs in coffins during a funeral procession.
