Alexis Sanchez joins Diego Costa at top of Premier League goalscoring charts after Arsenal hat-trick against West Ham

Gunners star was in superb form at London Stadium and goes level in rankings with Chelsea hitman with 11 goals

ALEXIS SANCHEZ’S superb hat-trick against West Ham has seen him join Diego Costa at the top of the Premier League goalscoring charts.

The Chilean was in sublime form at the London Stadium as he inspired Arsenal to an impressive 5-1 win.

Sanchez has seen his role change from wide man to central striker this season and despite initial reservations from fans, it appears Arsene Wenger’s decision has paid off.

The 27-year-old now has 11 goals to his name and moves him level with Chelsea hitman Costa, who put in a man-of-the-match performance against Manchester City after netting in the 3-1 win.

Sanchez also has a better minutes-per-goal ratio than his counterpart, finding the net every 107 minutes compared to Costa’s 112.

However, the Stamford Bridge favourite has five assists to Sanchez’s four, meaning he’s still been involved in more goals than any other player so far.

Sanchez’s recent blitz saw his surge above Sergio Aguero, who remains rooted in the rankings on 10 goals.

Midfielder Eden Hazard has chipped in with eight goals after scoring at the Etihad, but remains neck-and-neck with in-form Sunderland poacher Jermain Defoe.
