Manchester City starlet Gabriel Jesus arrives to cheer on new team-mates in title showdown with Chelsea on Saturday

Brazilian will make a flying visit to his new Etihad home for Premier League crunch clash ahead of January move

MANCHESTER CITY will be cheered on by their new £27 million signing Gabriel Jesus during Saturday's title showdown with Chelsea.

The Brazil number nine is spending a couple of days with his new club before joining them permanently on January 1 and arrived at Manchester Airport today.

Jesus, 19, will be shown around the Etihad and City Football Academy while also meeting his new team-mates.

He will watch the lunchtime date with Antonio Conte's leaders on Saturday before heading back to his homeland.

Jesus will then have a short 'close season' break before returning to Manchester later this month to start to build up his fitness again.

Boss Pep Guardiola will have him available for the Premier League game against Burnley on January 2 - but may choose not to rush him into action.

The forward has had a memorable year - helping his country win gold at the Rio Olympics and also shooting current club Palmeiras to their domestic title.

He was handed the coveted number nine shirt by his national team and has repaid that by scoring five goals in his first six appearances.

Speaking earlier in the week, he said: "Here in Brazil I have got into the habit of winning titles.

"Now I hope there will be many more to celebrate in future."

Jesus completed the formalities of his move - including a medical - when he officially signed for City in August.
