Colombia plane crash: PSG star Edinson Cavani booked after touching tribute to Chapecoense victims

Striker took off shirt to reveal tragic club's crest but referee wasn't pleased with actions and put his name in the book

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN star Edinson Cavani was booked after taking off his shirt to pay tribute to the victims of the Chapecoense air crash on Wednesday evening.

71 people lost their lives when the Brazilian football team’s plane crashed in Colombia earlier this week.

Chapecoense had fought their way up from the fourth division to the top flight in seven years and were travelling to play Atletico Nacional on the Sudamerica Cup final.

But just three players survived the doomed flight, and the world of football is in a state of shock.

Teams playing across the globe on Wednesday observed a minute of silence before kick-off.

And Uruguayan Cavani ripped off his PSG top after scoring in their 2-0 win over Angers to reveal Chapecoense’s club crest.

However, the referee wasn’t interested in the message and decided to show yellow to Cavani, who couldn’t believe his eyes.

But he can at least be pleased to score his 100th goal for the French giants after joining in 2013, with the win seeing PSG move just one point behind Ligue 1 leaders Nice.
