Carl Jenkinson’s EFL Cup performance at Emirates blasted by angry fans as Arsenal struggle against Southampton
Misfit defender badly at fault for second Saints goal and many supporters never want to see him put on the shirt again
CARL JENKINSON has come in for a rough time from Arsenal fans for his dismal performance against Southampton this evening.
The Gunners trailed 2-0 at the break following goals from Jordy Clasie and Ryan Bertrand.
Jenkinson has only just worked his way back into Arsene Wenger’s plans following injuries to Hector Bellerin and Mathieu Debuchy.

But the defender could find himself back on the bench soon after his mistake led to Southampton’s second goal at the Emirates.
And supporters have flooded Twitter with a barrage of complaints, with many claiming Jenkinson isn’t fit to wear the Arsenal shirt.
One said: “Carl Jenkinson definitely has deeper connections to be playing for Arsenal.”
Another tweeted: “What an average player and an embarrassment to Arsenal based on that performance.”

One disgruntled view wrote: “Carl Jenkinson leave my club. He’s not even good enough for the PL.”
Another quipped: “Carl Jenkinson is undoubtedly the worst defender in football currently.”
