AMERICAN rock legends Guns N' Roses have posted a touching tribute to the victims of doomed flight LMI-2933.
The Medellin-bound jet - carrying members of Brazilian side Chapecoense - crashed in the Colombian mountains after suspected electrical failure, killing 71.
Tributes have poured in from the world of sport, with world landmarks being lit green as a sign of solidarity with the club, who lost 19 players in the disaster.
And the Axl Rose led group released their own tribute on Twitter, posted a video featuring their iconic cover of Bob Dylan's Knockin' On Heaven's Door.
Guns N' Roses are still a huge draw in South America and recently finished a tour of the continent which featured gigs in Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Chile and Colombia.
Their 1990 version of the 1973 classic was recorded for the film Days of Thunder and has become one of their best loved songs.
It features the lyrics "Mama take this badge from me, I can't use it anymore.
"It's getting dark too, dark to see. Feels like I'm knockin' on heaven's door."
Fans were quick to thank the band for the touching tribute, posting messages of support and thanks from Brazil and afar.
One user wrote: 'I have the best idols in the world' whilst another added 'may they rest in peace. Amazin, thanks GNR. #forzachape'.
