Bastian Schweinsteiger takes time out with stunning wife Ana Ivanovic after being named on bench for Manchester United

German has been exiled by Jose Mourinho but says he wants return to Old Trafford team after lunch with the missus

BASTIAN SCHWEINSTEIGER looked in good spirits as he took a stroll with gorgeous wife Ana Ivanovic.

The sporty pair were snapped just days after Schweinsteiger appeared to edge closer than he has been all season towards the Manchester United first team.

It has been a miserable time in recent moths for the German legend but he was named on the United bench for the first time this term in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with West Ham.

And he appeared to have the support of stunning tennis star Ivanovic, 29, as they enjoyed a stroll before a spot of lunch on Tuesday afternoon.

Schweinsteiger, 32, is now hoping to force his way into the reckoning for United’s second clash with the Hammers in three days.

Asked whether he expected to be involved, Schweinsteiger replied: “I hope so, I wan to play every game.”

He is yet to feature under manager Jose Mourinho in any capacity so far in 2016-17.

Mourinho banished the former World Cup winner to train with the reserves at the start of the campaign and even omitted him from the team photo.

However, the £170,000-a-week midfielder was named in the 25-man squad for the Premier League and could be called on to help a United side who have made their worst start to a season in a whopping 27 years.
