WAYNE ROONEY is ready to ban all selfies with fans 'in public' in a bid to prevent any further sensational scandals involving the Manchester United captain from hitting the press.

The decision comes after Rooney was pictured at England’s Hertfordshire team break posing with guests at a wedding party at the venue during the last international break.

According to the Rooney's agent Paul Stretford said last night: “Undoubtedly one of the sad byproducts of this whole situation and everything Wayne has had to deal with since the night after the Scotland game means we are having to review the whole process of when he's in public in his own time.

“Wayne has always been open to agreeing to pictures in public and enjoys engaging with the public as a normal person.

"That said, while 99.9% of people who approach Wayne are entirely genuine in their motives, sadly there's a small minority with a their own agenda who want pictures of him for an entirely different purpose.”

The 31-year-old remarkably escaped punishment from the FA following his all-night bender at The Grove despite chief exec Martin Glenn promising an investigation into Rooney’s antics.
There will also be no further action taken against teammates Adam Lallana and Jordan Henderson either, who both travelled to a lap-dancing club in Bournemouth on the night in question.
