Chelsea steward told off by Rio Ferdinand for refusing to allow Gianfranco Zola onto the pitch at Stamford Bridge
Former Manchester United defender told the Blues' security official 'Zola owns this pitch!'
BEFORE Eden Hazard and Didier Drogba, there was Gianfranco Zola.
But it seems some at Chelsea are unaware of their own club's history.
BT Sport presenter Jake Humphrey informed viewers that a steward at Chelsea had tried to stop the Italian maestro going on the Stamford Bridge pitch.
Zola strutted his stuff in West London for seven years after joining from Parma in 1996 and was part of the BT commentary team for the Blues' 2-1 win over Tottenham.
Humphrey said: "We are reeling. Reeling! From one of the stewards telling Zola not to go on the pitch.
"Rio politely reminded him that Gianfranco Zola owns this football pitch."
Christian Eriksen put Tottenham ahead at Chelsea with a wonderstrike in the first half.
But Pedro equalised with an even better strike on the stroke of half time.
And any dreams Spurs had of ending their 26 years of hurt at Stamford Bridge were put to bed when Victor Moses scored the winner just after the break.

Fans of rival clubs may be thinking it's fitting that post-Abramovich staff at Chelsea have no idea about the club's history.
However Man United's stewards are no better.
In the club's League Cup Fourth Round tie with rivals Man City, one steward refused to let treble-winner David May enter the Old Trafford turf.
