Neymar finds himself suffering from six-game league and cup Barcelona goal drought

But it's not all bad news: the Brazilian star has equalled Champions League record of seven assists in one season

NEYMAR is suffering a goal drought after failing to score in his last six games.

So far this season the Brazilian has scored six times - that seven less goals than he had at the same stage of the season two years ago and five less than last year.

But Barcelona boss Luis Enrique remains unflustered, saying: "These numbers will improve with the passage of the weeks."

However, Neymar continues to supply the ammunition for Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.

He has supplied them with 11 assists to date.

And in the Champions League Neymar is on course to make history  this season.

For he equalled the assist record when he set up Messi during the 2-0 win over Celtic in midweek.

It was his seventh assist in this season’s competition.

That ties Xavi’s record – after just FIVE games.

Actually he owes his feat to his performances against Celtic, having grabbed four assists in the 7-0 win in Spain.

But Neymar won’t be able to break the record in Barca's final group game because he’s banned after picking up his third yellow card of the competition at Celtic Park.

Seven-up in the Champions League

Two other players who have created seven goals in one Champions League season are Mesut Ozil and Zlatan Ibrahimovic when they were playing for Real Madrid (2010-11) and Paris Saint-Germain (2012-13) respectively.
