Chelsea transfer news: Bertrand Traore remains Lyon target as French scout Ajax’s Europa League clash

Talented young striker will be watched in tonight's game against Panathinaikos as Lyon prepare to make summer move

CHELSEA could be in danger of losing Bertrand Traore as Lyon continue to scout the talented youngster, according to reports.

Traore is currently on loan at Ajax where he has scored five goals and assisted a further three in 18 appearances.

The 21-year-old’s summer exit came as a surprise to fans after he made 16 appearances in the previous season under Jose Mourinho and Guus Hiddink.

The decision looks to have been justified, with £30million signing Michy Batshuayi yet to start a league game because of Diego Costa’s impeccable form.

But with Lyon now interested and Traore reportedly unhappy with his treatment under Antonio Conte, Chelsea run the risk of seeing one of their brightest prospects up sticks and leave.

The report adds Lyon have recently expanded their scouting programme but will wait until next summer before making a move.
