LEICESTER'S stars are set to split a £2.5million bonus kitty for reaching the Champions League knockout phases.

Claudio Ranieri's side beat Club Brugge 2-1 to seal progression with four wins from five matches among Europe's elite.

The Foxes have taken over £10m in prize money from Uefa for their run which comes on the back of last season's incredible title triumph.

And the players will take around £100,000 each as part of a pre-tournament bonus agreement.

Last season, Leicester chiefs were caught out by their players sucess after focusing their pay-outs on avoiding relegation.

They ultimately decided to reward the title winners with a fleet of luxury cars.

Boss Ranieri also has a clause in his contract for getting Leicester into the later stages.

But the Italian's motivation in glory not financial gain.

He said: "It’s unbelievable. Top of the group, I’m very happy, very proud for my players, very happy for the chairman, for the fans, for everybody. Another journey to the knockout.

"Our job is done. I don't know which team we play, it will be a fantastic team.

"Now our mind must go on the Premier League because I want to push my players to think about the Premier League.

"In the Premier League we are very close to the relegation zone and we must play at the same level as the Champions League because when we want to do something, we achieve something.

"We must concentrate on the Premier League now."
