Alexis Sanchez takes a tumble to earn Arsenal a penalty against Paris Saint-Germain… but was it a dive?
Olivier Giroud converts a penalty for Arsenal after Chilean star was brought down just before half-time
ARSENAL were in a bit of trouble against PSG at the Emirates, with Cavani putting the visitors 1-0 up.
But they were rescued on the stroke of half-time by Alexis Sanchez.
Although neutrals may not be too impressed with the way the Chilean went about doing it.
Receiving a pinpoint pass from Mesut Ozil, Sanchez cut inside past a challenge from Grzegorz Krychowiak.
Having beaten the Pole, he then fell to the floor, and the referee pointed to the spot.
In-form striker Olivier Giroud then stepped up to slot the penalty past Alphonse Areola in the PSG goal.
As ever, Twitter users had their say...
However BT Sport pundit Ian Wright said he thought it was a penalty.
The former Arsenal man said: "In the current climate you go down. I think he [Krychowiak] caught him [Sanchez] enough."
After the penalty, Edinson Cavani lost his cool and aimed what looked to be a punch at Aaron Ramsey's chest.
However the referee took no action, and the Welshman didn't come out of the incident with much credit either, as he clutched hold of his face in an attempt to get the Uruguayan sent off.
