SOUTHAMPTON hope to pull off a sensational LOAN move for Daniel Sturridge in January.
The Liverpool striker has been on the fringes of Jurgen Klopp’s squad this season as the German has preferred Roberto Firmino in the Reds’ mobile attack.
And the Saints have joined a handful of clubs looking to offer the England international a swift Anfield escape route.

According to the , Klopp is willing to let Sturridge, 27, leave during the next transfer window to make way for new signings.
And Southampton boss Claude Puel is keen to take the frontman for the rest of the campaign, with a view to a £25million permanent switch in the summer.

Sturridge has started just five Premier League games in the Reds’ flying start to the season, and has so far failed to find the net.
He was given just 12 minutes off the bench in Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Saints as Klopp’s frustrated side slipped off of top spot.
But the former Chelsea star has bagged a pair of braces in the EFL Cup and netted for his country against Malta and Scotland.
West Ham, Stoke and Italian giants AC Milan have all also shown an interest in Sturridge, who has struggled with injuries throughout his three-year stay on Merseyside.
Puel is on the lookout for a new attacker after Graziano Pelle and Sadio Mane left St Mary’s in the summer – with the Senagal star joining Liverpool.
